Sunday Morning

Harlan is looking better to me, like some of the swelling and blistering on his face has gone down. The burn unit specialist who saw him yesterday came again this morning and also said he looks much better.

During rounds this morning the doctor on call said that it was very important for Harlan to start eating, and since he’s not taking in enough on his own they will probably put a feeding tube in him later today to help him get the calories he needs to help him heal.

Last night they had to insert a new IV line in his other hand because the first one got puffy and stopped working. He was awake for much of the night watching Finding Nemo for the 9th and 10th times since we’ve been here, so this morning he is just sleeping quietly here in the ICU.
